1. Does it actually exist, it is still not on their website and no longer on ebay?
2. If it does exist, has anyone every used it and what is the fitment like?
3. Does anyone have any pics?
I want to install something like that with my OEM exhaust to keep it quiet. I think it is a good idea removing the secondary cats to gain a smidge more power. There is no O2 sensor after the secondary cats either so you wouldnt have to worry about a CEL. Please chime in with whatever info you have on this item.
If you are looking for quiet then the midpipe removal is going to make a big exhaust noise difference even with stock mufflers. I have heard people with just axle back exhaust and compared with my LMS I installed. The noise is almost twice as loud. Both the megan and LMS removes the secoundary cats and the exhaust flow is much greater volume wise.. because it is less restrictive the exhaust tone is much more pronounce! BUt the trade off is I do feel the difference with the 2nd cats removed.
I still think the OEM mufflers though will do a good job of supressing the noise since there are still 2 primary cats and a resonator in the new mid section
I had the entire Megan exhaust installed but didn't like the noise. To loud for me so I put the stock axle back part and it didn't increase the noise at all. Nobody can tell the difference it sounds completely stock. I ordered a tanabe so i hope the sound doesn't increase to much from that.
well i got it through technotics... here in Canada.. but u can definatly find somebody where you live. Check megans website then go to distributors. You should be able to order just the 3 piece mid-pipe. Yes the megan is completely bolt on. I got it installed a an exhaust shop and was so pissed about the fitment cause the resonator was hitting the heatshield..but then found out that the exhaust shop didn't exactly line up the flanges..
I have been trying to find it myself and on their site its the whole exhaust now. I just wanted to try the mid pipes out. Adam let me know if you find it please PM me. I am not too worried about the sound but want more performance from it.
You and me both. I think I am going to buy it, if available when I get my next commision next week or so. Seems like a good idea to increase power by removing the secondary cats.
I also like how it comes with a resonator to dampen the sound. Also it is great that it is totally bolt on.
Hell I am going to call Megan right now and get some damn answers. I will let ya know Mike.
Its part number is MidpipeLI06, it retails for $500, it is a direct bolt on and you should have no troubles bolting it directly to the OEM components.
They also said to try calling RMSUSA at 623-742-9494 as a purchase point instead of buying through them because obviously they have to charge retail. So we may be able to save $100 going through one of their distributors. I think this would be a good item to set up a group buy for. What do you all think.
this is off that site. It is a direct bolt on. they also sell it broken down and I am not so sure anyone else does anymore. I left a message to find out availability and to make sure they will sell just the mid section.
