Default SRT: Are they a respected tuner brand or ????

I'm not sure if these guys are still around or changed management but I used to deal with a guy named Mohamed.....

Bought an intake and piggyback ecu from them and caused all sorts of headaches for my 99 GS400. The car would hesitate, misfire and have a low idle that would flame out the ignition at stoplights, etc. Dealer would not help and diagnosed the problem as an air / fuel mixture issue. The repair bill was in the thousands and they voided my warranty too.

I'm trying to buy another GS400 now and really scared of cars with this type of mod....anyone else have problems with this company/mods?

I don't like the way there is no way to call them and ask questions! I thought about using them for a tranny rebuild, but the customer service is not really there. can not speak about their intakes though!

I've dealt with them in the past several times and had no issues. In the early days, Mo installed my intake, torque converter, exhaust and suspension mods. A few years later Mo installed my supercharger and VB upgrade. As mentioned above, communication / response is the biggest complaint I read about with them.

Had no issues with the SRT intake, etc. over many years of use. From your description, I think your problem sounds more like an installation issue with air/fuel ECU wiring done incorrectly. As I'm sure you know, any time you're popping open the factory ECU and cutting wires you are taking a risk with your warranty.

If you're worried about it, 99% of the GS out there don't have anything like this done to them. I'm not sure why it's a problem for you . If you're concerned about it, just don't buy one with it.

I've never dealt with them but they do seem to be always very busy so customers say it is sometimes hard to get a hold of them. Otherwise, just go with another intake/ecu combo.

Doing a little digging it seems this is a topic that you like discussing both past and present:

S4play, you already know how you'd answer the question you posted, simply let your own experiences guide your purchasing decision. I'm sorry for whatever happened to your old GS in the past, but let's not keep rehashing the same incident please.

Good luck with your search and purchase.
