Default Intakes

I just bought the SRT HFI for my GS400. I did a readup on Intakes, and didn't konw that by adding an Intake, it could cause so many problems with the Air/Fuel mixtures. Since the SRT intake has a piggyback ecu, will it correct the problems that can be caused, or should i still have it dyno'd and corrected that way?

Also, if i were to get my car dynod, what else should i look for? I know SRT says their High Flow Intake can produce gains of up to 30hp and 40lbtq, how would i get these results? Is there anyone out there who has got these results or close too? If so, and are willing to, could you post pics of your dyno sheet showing results, and mods you have to increase hp & torque? Thanks a lot

John

Since the SRT intake is a larger diameter and flows higher your car will not run well without the provided piggyback ECU. The RMM and K&N are closer to stock and can be accomodated by the stock ECU. Having said that, there is room for additional tuning with an SAFCII or by some other mechanism.

As to your other questions, do a search. There are plenty of old and new threads with information on the things you are asking. And the unfortunate truth, your results may vary.
