Default Good intakes for GS400

WSup Guys.... I just got a 99 GS400... Can't wait to load this badboy up. I heard you have to put some sort of ECU chip on the car if your planning on getting an intake? Is this true? and other than that...what is a good intake to put on? My friend has a GS300 and he made his own intake and it sounds amazing, would I get better performance out of brand name intake or can I get a custom one myself? I want to do this over the weekend, any advice on this or anything else about a GS400 would help, I can't wait to post pics of the car after it's all decked out for you guys! Thanks for your help.

Thumbs up Welcome to CL!

You can find a lot of info on any subject (most have been discussed at length already) by using the search feature. There is a wealth of info on intakes; maybe you've read some already.
I have the K&N FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) and it works very well and requires no ECU mod.
One of the main reasons I went with this one is that it is CARB certified and the SRT intake is not (at least it wasn't last time I checked).
Modest performance gain, not so modest intake noise gain-sounds good to most people though.
Check with some of the CL vendors on the site for availability of parts and accessories and get started modding!
