lol what he meant to put is that the cats on the headers of the 2jz NA engine are "clogged" when the cars gets turned on it idles low and then after 10-20 mins the second header glows red.... could this be the catalytic on the heads or the third catalytic?? what i was told by a reputable lexus technician is that the catalytics on the headers on a lexus dont go bad that mainly the third catalytic (down pipe) is the one that goes bad... please add w/e info you can.. it will be very helpful...

A) find aftermarket headers

B) find a solution that wont be $1200 to fix....

Does anyone have an answer on the third cat question? Reallllly interested... I'm in similar position, cat bad, and probably going to go with header instead of replacing the cats. I assume since I got a 430 code, cat conv, bank 2 etc, it's one or both of the cats on the mani.. at first I thought it was the O2 sensor, until a week later before I bought a new O2 sensor the car lost like 80% or so of it's power above 2500 RPM, and kept getting slower. It's parked for now.
I'm looking for a header to put on instead of new cats, but if it turns out it's just the third cat, I'd rather just get a high flow replacement and wait on the rest....

If you're talking about the third cat (01-05) or mid pipe with muffler (99-00) then why not the Megan midpipe? It has a high glow muffler on it that could solve your problem.

The post above makes me hesitate to do anything before I physically go in and disconnect piping to be absolutely sure the cause, and which cats out, assuming it must be one...
I got a 430 code, which is bank 2.. not sure which one this is, but would I be losing power forcing me down to 15-20 mph if only one of the main cats was out? thought maybe if the third cat was bad, then that could be the cause, but only based on this post above. The code I saw said it had another code, I'm guessing that might be the code from the other cat, but the device I was looking at wouldn't let me see the second code.
I may start a summary header/exhaust thread, hoping that wouldnt beat a dead horse, but I've been skipping around all the different threads and some questions get kind of left hanging it seems like on the gs300...
