Question PROBLEM! have no idea

i was driving today and the car just stopped as if it wasn't in gear? i looked down and it was in drive but it wouldn't engage and it would just keep reving... i had it towed to the mechanic but any ideas whats wrong with it?

Umm what mods do you have? Could you have taken your tranny? It looks like you're boosted. It also could be something with your torque converter.

Sounds like the transmission is slipping

If you're pushing quite a bit of power on OEM tranny, it's not going to survive.

it was running at 5psi so about 240-250 not sure never had it dynoed

Hmm that's most likely not your problem, unless your WG didn't open and you overboosted. Do you have a TC?

i have a Precision industried TC with tranny cooler. i think thats the problem..you can hear something spinning under the car when car is at idle

I would say something went wrong with that. Whether it be stripped, or who knows. I wouldn't worry about the actual tranny too much, unless like I said, your WG didn't open and you overboosted on accident.

He's supercharged. Doesnt have a wastegate. And cannot overboost.

I'd say the torque converter is probably the culprit. Do you have an aftermarket transmission cooler installed? If not, then your tranny fluid temps are going to skyrocket when you load the tranny down and more so with a high stall converter.

i do have a tranny cooler...i believe its the TC as well...does anyone know how the car will act if your speed sensors go bad?
