Default Intake Systems for a IS350

I have a question in regards to the two intake systems being sold on the web site. One is the Joe Z and the other the LMS Short Ram. There was some testing results on the Joe Z to show the difference it makes but nothing on the LMS. So all I can see of the bat is the price difference. The LMS is about twice as expensive. Does anyone recomend one over the other? Also does anyone know if installing these would void your factory warranty in any way?

Also one last thing. I saw the LMS intake on another site and it had a disclaimer "Please check with your local state emissons, currently will not pass in Ca" Does anyone know if this is true? I'd hate to buy it only to find out I can't install it.

Joe-Z over LMS for me any day. There has been much discussion on weather or not the LMS even makes any power, and it may even lose power over the stock setup. I also personally don't like the sound the LMS makes. Sounds way to ricey IMO once you get it above 5k rpm's. The Joe-Z has a very very subtle change in sound which you won't even notice unless you're listening for it, and it does make atleast some power.

CA is always strict with car mods, so they have to put that disclaimer, apparently any modifcation that doesnt have a carb sticker is illegal

I have the JOEZ with a Blitz drop-in and I love the sound. More aggressive than stock, but not overly so like the other open filter intakes.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking into buying the Joe Z intake, but I can't find it anywhere. I found it on myis but it's sold out, other then that nothing. Does anyone else know where to get one? I'd love to get one.

One more question, do the dealers give people any problems interms of warranty issue because of mods like this one?

My dyno is scheduled for this coming friday at 1pm EST. Last week I was away in Cozumel on a dive trip, which worked out well because the dyno shop was booked all that week.

I have the Fujita intake. Sounds great, but like the LMS, I don't think there's really any power added. It's not too loud, until you step on it; you can hear it @ 4000rpm+. Seems to me the LMS and Fujita are pretty much the same.

I have the Fujita intake and had them black poweder coat it for me. Took a little longer to get, but it is stealthy, almost stock looking unless your looking for it.

It comes alive around 3300 rpm and has a throaty growl above that mark. On the upper end of the RPM, seems to be a little more responsive on the throttle than stock. Down low, ala city driving, it feels a bit sluggish over stock.

I mostly drive like an **** hole so it's always in power mode, and mash the peddle all the time. Was it worth the $260 I paid for it......I guess. Was it a dramatic OMG type of response I had after driving it installed? No. But I look at it like this.....

It's a piece of the pie. Once I get the headers if someone makes them, exhaust, ECU reflash, etc..... It will combine for the OA package.

If an intake is all your wanting to do, save your cash unless you like to hear the growl. It's not going to give you $260 worth of performance. And if your anywhere near Temecula, Oceanside, Escondido area, your more than welcome to come take a look and drive my car to see, as long as you have a 350 as well. If your driving a 250, you'll just leave disapointed so save yourself the heartache.
