Default Has anyone tuned their cars with SAFC/I/E?

Thinking of redoing my exhaust, getting an intake and the SAFC. Has anyone actually tuned their cars with the SAFC and seen a power increase? Any numbers for a somewhat expected gain with tuning?

I'm on the fence right now, wondering if its worth it.

Yep, I did that. I'm a bit skeptical on dyno results, but it looks like I gained maybe a dozen whp on my GS400.

I paid $220 for it, installed it myself and paid $100 for about 6 runs on the dyno when my guy was tuning it.

I use one on my GS400. I needed one to correct for the intake which was throwing the fuel curve off. As for top end I got a few HP on top by taking out a tad of fuel but not a lot. The midrange was absolutely perfect in terms of AF from the factory. Have you considered the new CamCon controller from PE? It will do fuel and VVTi.

right now im on the fence, id like to redo my exhaust with an intake and then tune it, but im not sure if the gains will be there for the cost. im also interested if the safc/or tuning will slightly improve gas mileage.

Im trying to do as much research as possible. if anyone has any more info chime in!

You will more than likely find that your car is running very rich right now - mine was running 17% too rich. So, for me at least it actually turned into an invesment ( well, would have if I hadn't sold the car so soon!!!!).

I would wait until you do everything else ( intake, exhaust etc) before you bother with the SAFC. I also recommend the SAFC 2 as it gives you more defined settings.

I loved mine and would definitely do it again. For gas, mine was worth it, but without mods, may be negligible.
