Question Torque convertor install questions

ok, i went to the shop, here is the q's there mechanic asked me:

where is the ideal mount location for the tranny cooler? he was thinking on the front left side, but he said he might have to drill holes to make it fit???

does the starter have to be removed? if so, where is it?

gosh i thought this was gonna be easy. is there anyone that he could just talk to that can give him some answers? im not gonna do this till he's ready

the tranny cooler goes in front of the ac condensor
it takes 2 or 4 screws to hold it in place
should be about 5-10 minute job

ok you have the 400

the starter stays put no need to touch it ...it is under the intake manifold ..hidden

its pretty easy and they come with directions

i mounted mine in front of the AC condenser

look 400dgrz(SP) threads he had one put in and wrote soemthing uop about it

These posts should help you out. Some tranny coolers mount with plastic /nylon strips that pust thru the condenser and radiator fins. This way you don't have to screw anything in to the radiator or supports. I have a 430 and used a Hayden cooler. I put mine on the right side (passenger side) the same side as 400DGRZ, I believe he has a 400.

drill holes?! damn does he know what he's doing?

most people they just put it in front of the radiator, on the pessenger side, coz' of all the lines. but the right position should be on teh driver side, right in front of the ac condensor. but it's harder to do from what i heard. i will relocate it when i do my water pump and timing belt i think
