Default RMM Supercharger- 1 Left

I was talking to the RMM guys yesterday and they said they were moving things around and found a complete boxed up kit that had slid under the racks! So for anyone looking for the kit this is really the last one. FYI...

All I would want is the supercharger and bracket. I could get the rest of it made.

I would also need the pulley on the crank obviously. But the rest of it could be fabricated. I am surprised that no one has made a replica of the RMM supercharger bracket.

Anyways, I've seen multiple cars with supercharger setups during their installation, and it's quite a bit easier than doing a turbo install since you don't have to mess with exhaust manifolds. I know some people here in Cleveland or in St. Louis that could do the work. They build exhaust manifolds, intercoolers, etc and done custom turbo/supercharger installs.

HOWEVER, even though I would have money for the supercharger...I doubt I would have enough to build up the transmission in order to use that extra power reliably.

your right about the pulley

but then there is spacer that goes on the thermostat housing

the intercooler itself

the belt tensioner

the Ic piping ...which needs to be exact

spacers here and there ...bolts

parts that need to be drilled and taken off never to use again

trust me when i say this

i too thought it was the matter of just having the bracket and off you go

but after buying one i realize that is not the case
and it is way more involved ....im not really sure what skills you have

but it sounds like you have the means to attempt it

good luck ..just remember some things are always as cut and dry as everyone makes them to be

it would be a lot of work and $$$$$

oh and as far as the trans goes

you can beef it up with a VBupgrade and the Beef up the trans like so :::

* Valve body is custom calibrated to provide the ultimate in clutch application power and clamping force (The modifications performed by us are a proprietary design and are unavailable elsewhere)
* Virtually indestructible Raybestos Blue Plates and Kolene Steels are installed in all shifting clutches
* New one way clutches (sprags) are installed in all locations
* Planetary splines are heat treated to prevent stripping
* Metalax treatment is applied to input shaft to eliminate stress related failure
* Sun shell is heat treated to prevent spline stripping
* New design high flow solenoid assemblies are installed
* Lube system is redesigned to provide increased flow and cooler operation
* Performance pressure regulator boost valve is installed to prevent sluggish line pressure rise and to increase clutch holding ability.

NOTE: This unit is the strongest configuration that can be achieved with this Toyota transmission. However, if you are running much faster than 9.99 we recommend the installation of a domestic three speed or Powerglide transmission. These units also enable you to enjoy the many benefits of a Trans Brake and 8", 9", or 10" torque converter. See our specialty RWD section or call us for details.

A340 (86-92), 93-up 30-40LE, A340E, A340F, A340E, Jeep AW4: $2875
A341E and A340E, Lexus, Supra 2JZ-GTE: $3075
A340H 4Runner - $call$
Please call or email us to order a complete transmission.

Yeah Exactly !

9 months ago they kept telling me they had one more kit available and I just need to wait for a couple of small parts to come in. Maybe this actually IS the last one that I tried to order 9 months ago. Well wudda ya know. They finally got those misc. part in.

Too bad. I'm not interested in doing business with them anymore. I've already moved on to something better. Cough . . Hint . . . Hint.

Been there done that.

I GUARANTEE they won't sell you their spares in order for you to make your own kit. They tell me that those parts are reserved for existing customers who might need replacement parts down the road.

You can always try giving them that line and see what they say.

The tranny will hold up as long as you keep the HP down to somewhere around 375 RWHP or less. Are you looking for more power than that? I don't believe anyone has exceeded 400 HP using the RMM kit, so technically you are still safe.

Sounds like you have the means to make the rest of the SC kit, so why wouldn't it be hard for you to make the bracket as well?

Default They actually stopped making them over 4 years ago

I asked this several times. Mainly a business decision to move on and focus on other upcoming products like for their EVO line, etc.

They basically exited out of the Lexus market for several years now. They have not sold anything significantly new , improved or different on their website for Lexus in about 3 or 4 years. A few exceptions for the IS300.

They built up 25 kits about 4+ years ago. I know, I was there talking to Rhys Millen about it and saw all of the parts being laid out in his shop. So it basically took them this long to get rid of them. So that comes out to what, 6 kits sold per year, one kit every 2 months. At that rate, it's no wonder they got out of selling it. I mean how long did it take for them to get a return on their investment? Lastly, I'm sure they only justified selling the SC when they based it on the original selling price of $7k each. Once they dropped the price down to $4500 last summer, you could take that as a sign that they just wanted to liquidate and get out of the business.

I guess the RMMSC has gone the same route as the McSteak Sandwich did at McDonalds. Not enough demand to support selling.
