Default Lowering transmission--starter

My starter went out and I was researching the forums on how to replace it. I read that you have to drop the transmission to reach the starter bolts. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this? Does the tranny really need to be lowered? If so, how do you lower the tranny? Thanks.

I figured it out. All it takes is a swivel head. No need to lower the tranny.
