So $1000 for X HP to the wheels...
Can't wait until we get some good numbers showing X
If I could do SRT and Headers with the L-Tuned exhaust and pick up 50+ to the wheels I would probably consider it.

I have the SRT and the L-Tuned exhaust and will be getting the headers as soon as they are available. I will get a dyno after and then you can see what I am putting out at the wheels and decide then if you want it. I will be your guinea pig

OK, I have been on the road for 2 days relocating to upstate NY to care for my ailing mother. I haven't had time or energy to focus on this at the moment. I did speak to gawd today and 15 hours seems off especially since Dx3 got a quote for 7. I honestly cannot say. We should know more soon.
As far as these being the worst bang for the buck... well... eye of the beholder. Right now you can get gears, lsd, SRT intake, PI TC and that is about it other than NOS and FI. Headers at a very real need on a performance engine. If you don't think so, fine, but please whine about it somewhere else.
I don't believe gawd has a clogged cat. A slight exhaust leak at between the Y pipes is not going to cause a measurable power change. An 11.5 A/F ratio is. He has the SRT with race ECU and that probably needs tweeking. 230rwhp seems low, 260rwtq seems reasonable.

At one time I was really interested in these but without GOOD comparison numbers showing some sort of gain, having to at a minimum move the engine partly out of the way for install, and did I read 15 hours to install...
This may be the worst "bang for your buck" mod for our cars yet... yet I hope the gains prove me wrong...

I'm thinking aloing the same lines as you, I wanted to get everyone the most "clean" comparison as possible. I don't think the exhuast leak is extreme enough to warrant any concern, when the car was put on the dyno, we couldn't detect anything. The only time I really hear anything is when I start the car cold. If it's the cat, I will leave until after the dyno run.
As for installation, you should be able to work out something with your mechanic. With every mechanic having different competencies and techniques, the installation cost will vary from shop to shop. I think the 15 hr is based on pulling the engine completely as policy for this at Lexus dealerships. I've shopped around several shops, from regular mechanics to "specialty" speed shops and the range has been 400-550.00. My mechanic who is a friend of the family, for the time being, is at the low end of the range.

Hope your mom gets better bro.

I think JBrady should be commended for what he is doing. Why would you insist on seeing a dyno sheet before you bought the headers? To me that is an insult to what JBrady has accomplished. He has given a great deal of time to do something that no full-time aftermarket parts company has been able or willing to do for the Lexus V8 community.

JBrady, Hope your mother gets better or is at least comfortable in her present condition.
You mentioned tweaking the SRT ECU - how do you do that??

Only SRT can do that because their ECU is proprietary, one of two ways.
1) Easiest - take your car to SRT, they strap it to a dyno and get air/fuel readings over several pulls and adjust them to the optimum levels by re-flashing their ECU
2) Dyno somewhere else, get the dyno file including air/fuel readings and send to SRT via email or hardcopy. Mail them your SRT ECU, they reflash it with updates and you re-install.
Option 1 is better because over several runs the iterations are obviously easier than involving mail and trial/error. The 'Race ECU' that came out a couple of years ago is a better 'average' map than the original one, yielding more power.
I don't know much more than this - don't know the price, don't know their availability to do it rather than higher $$ items such as turbo and (cough tturbopimp) tt installs.
Sorry for the diversion - back on topic to the headers please
I didn't know MO would re-flash the ECU, I may have to go that route. After calculations, I need to lean out 14% to be at 13 A/F and 10% to be around 12.6. I'll give them a call in the next few days.

I believe gains on the dyno are on everyone's mind, but they are being done as a courtesy to the CL community and not as a marketing tool for the headers. JBrady has put in a ton of work and effort in getting the headers to the stage it's at currently and from my understanding, he isn't profitting in their sales. My time and financial contribution also serve as nothing more than a way to give back to the community from which I taken a ton of information. CinFulxGS4, obviously the dyno numbers will be a determining factor to you to actually sign up for the header list, but I think we should concentrate on installtion and fitment issues for the time being.
