Default Heat Shields

I have a 1993 SC 400 I’m getting these headers for. I would like to have heat shields over them, mainly so they appear stock. It was previously posted that the passenger side heat shield from a GS series fits the new prototype, but how about the driver’s side, or did I miss it?

If the GS heat shields fit, I’d be interested in aquiring a pair, assuming they will fit the SC, and I don't see why they wouldn't.

Headers due back from Jet Hot today. Installation of first set targeted for next weekend. Everyone on the list will be receiving an email update with more details.

Also, I am coordinating to have high flow Y pipes built. These will be in 304 stainless and will be a direct bolt in for 1998-2000 GS400s. Price is not yet known. I will send specifics to the header list. If you are not planning on headers right now but are interested in the Y pipe send me a PM.

Can you add me to the mailling list anyway? lvangundy@juno.com

Question about this. Would this be a direct bolt on to existing pipes and flanges? I plan on replacing my Y-pipe with the one you are sourcing (one of these fine days )

I also intend to replace the 3rd cat (the one after the Y-pipe) with an X-pipe. (as soon as I find a job and have enough $$ to spare).

The headers are based on the exhaust manifolds off a 2000 GS400(1UZ-FE) and should be bolt up to the 430 with all luck. I think there's some info on page 1 about which models the headers are aimed at.

Hopefully, we'll have more info on the JB Y-pipe in the next few days. It's aimed at the GS400 as well, but it's a good possibility that it will bolt up to a 430. But there's only one way to find out

if you got the email it says the prices.

i beleive they're 400 for a standard basic set, 600 for jet coated.

Price for Jet Hot coated is $600 + sh. I would not suggest uncoated for any application.

It is possible that dyno numbers will be available but MOST people do not understand how to interperet dyno information. There are MANY variables. Remember these are OBDII computer controlled engines that actually LEARN and adapt and tune themselves. Just installing the headers and immediately dynoing could easily give false high or low readings.

The bottom line is ANYONE who understands how engines run can clearly SEE how restrictive the stock parts are. Every single engine ever made responds positively to improved exhaust flow dynamics.

These will bolt up to the GS430, SC430 and LS430. They MAY bolt up to the stock cats and exhaust but there is no way to confirm this without actually trying it. Short of that I can only suggest that 430 owners plan on fabricating/modifying their Y pipe. I am relocating to upstate NY for the summer and fall and may be able to assist in building a GS430 specific Y pipe if a CL member/430 owner can coordinate with me. I will be in Rochester. So, 430 owners can order headers and wait on a possible Y pipe, have a custom Y pipe built, have their stock Y pipe modified or get lucky and have the stock parts fit. I say lucky from an ease standpoint as a better flowing Y pipe will increase performance.

On 1998-2000 GS400s the will be direct replacement parts for the stock manifolds and will work with the stock cats and exhaust pipes although a higher flowing Y pipe is still recommended.
