By the way...

Using 2 superchargers as above is rarely better than on larger unit. In the case of modern superchargers (like the Eaton 112) I see NO reason other than show car looks to use 2 units. Power would be lower and cost higher. 2 superchargers do not have the advantages of 2 turbochargers. 2 turbochargers can make installation on a V engine more effective and can be sized to be extremely responsive. Again, no such benefit in using 2 superchargers.

I always end up wishing that TRD supported this line of cars. I think it's idiotic that Toyota ignores this market segment, considering that many people consider the Lexus line the only "real" performance Toyotas sold in the states.

Originally I bought the longer headers from Australia. I didn't install them due to the cost associated with it, and sold them to someone on the forums. I forget his name, but he dropped a half second in the quarter mile and picked up a few mph in trap speed. Headers are a good idea for the car, but so many owners are low on cash because of the economy that performance mods seem to take a back seat, even basic maintenance.

The chip that I have isn't sold anymore, WR still owes me for the upended turbo thing. I don't post much on here anymore because I don't do anything to my car, just basic upkeep. If things ever stabilize, I'll probably return to messing with it, but for now it all remains on hold. Taking on a project like making a header is a pain, and should be taken on by factory performance outlets like TRD for best results. I personally think we need to rattle TRD's cage for some aftermarket support.

MadMax sold his headers to me. I dropped about 0.8 off the quarter mile and I think I gained 1 or 2 mph at the trap speed. BUT ... these runs were in conjuction with a PI torque converter. I never had a run with just tc so I don't have any data for gains just from the headers. My runs were also made on a 85 degree day so it was pretty damn hot as compared to my original runs which were at night and about 30 degrees lower in temp so there are more gains to be had on a cooler day.

Ok, just a quick update even though nothing is really changed.

As I stated previously one of the key fabricators at the shop became seriously ill and is still out. This put the shop way behind. I call weekly and the master fabricator has the manifolds in his office as a reminder BUT he is distracted and short handed and as I said before this is not a project he has made any money on and there is no guarantee that he will make money on it. I know that people feel that $300 per manifold is not super cheap but in the range of small production parts like this... it actually is VERY cheap.

As far as the actual plan... once he has moved this project onto his schedula we plan is to build a test manifold and then see how it fits. If it fits properly, jigging will be built and production of at least the passenger side can begin. Pending results and interest the same will be done for the drivers side. Actual dates are unknown due to the above.

Believe me, I am not happy that this is taking so long but unless someone else has any ideas I guess waiting is my only option.

600 for custom headers is actually pretty cheap. they usually run around 1100 from a reputable shop where i live.

Just a quick update.

Wednesday April 28.

I have been calling once a week to encourage this project. When I called today I was informed that the owner/fabricator was out of the office until May 7th. I am sure this means that he will have a pile of catch up work upon return.

Again, I am trying but can only do so much.

Thats all until early May.

SORRY GUYS!!! No update here!

Just me saying "I'm in!!" Can't believe I haven't seen this thread before.....

I sent my PM/email to JBrady with the info.

If any further down-payments are needed, I can do that.

Good luck man!
