Summer is the busiest time for car guys and unpaid low priority projects drop farther down the list. So, unless we want to pay to have these made we are at the mercy of their priority list. As I said above, nice guy, good shop... just slow and made slower by some unforseen problems such as the employee illness.
Lonely T... if you have any suggestions I am all ears.
Jbrady, what city in Texas are you in? The man's name wouldnt happen to be Greg would it?
I'm interested in headers as well (although I would prefer long tube headers). If this project is considered a downtime project for the slow times in the season that is understandable, however you had mentioned an end of summer time frame, is this still feasable given the fact (at least from the postings on this thread) that work has not progressed on this project?
Not asking for a deposit is a benefit for both sides, first for the manufacturer because expectations on him are much lower when he doesn't have anyones money and second for the buyer for obvious reasons. I for one would rather pay a deposit and get a firm timeline as well as a position on the "priority list".
Thanks for keeping up with this! Any status update?

Stealther,
I am in Houston.
No, Greg is not his name.
If anyone in Houston has a line on a shop that would consider allowing some R&D to be done... let me know.
Sorry if anyone were hoping for an update... since there is no "news" on the project I thought I would offer something of interest...
Someone else decided "shorty" headers are the way to go

Does those have place for EGR pipe?
If those are shorter or longer no problem ... I will change everything after headers ...
The Tundra headers apparently share the same exhaust port bolt pattern on the head but the rest does not come close to fitting. You could possibly have a craftsman cut them appart and rebuild them to fit but then again it may make more sense to just have a set made from scratch.
Fisher, Jet Hot and other ceramic coatings are good for exhaust as they tend to insulate and therefore keep the heat in the pipes rather than heating your underhood area. On mild steel they prevent rust and corrosion. This is of course assuming that the ceramic are bonded properly to the steel. With stainless parts the benefits are relatively minor due to the lower heat radiation of the stainless itself. See www.burnsstainless.com for more on stainless properties.
