I was thinking that way i could run a EGR and the Turbo and map system on a USDM block so my smog would be easier. I would strip the USDM block bare, install the bottom end like a 1.5jz, then use my factory injectors on the top end (adapt the 1JZ one). Then it would run a 2JZ NA/T engine with 1jz electronics.

you can run a 2jzge with a 1jzgte harness. you will have to rewire the cam and crank sensors to the distributor, or use the 1JZ head for the cam sensors and install a 96+ oil pump and crank sensor with the gte timing gear.
It doesn't make much sense though since you are loosing sequential injection, and no 1jz ever had EGR, so if you use a 1jz harness/ecu your egr wont work.
what you should do is the tt ecu mod with a US 2jzgte ecu, rewire the 2jzge harness like in my thread (or use a 2jzgte harness and rewire the body plugs = more $$$), and then you will have full US smog and on a turbo ecu.
