Just picked up these bad boys tonight from a local guy who bought his Soarer way back in '95 that had these fitted when imported.

None other than Zees.

Current exhaust setup is 2 1/4" twin cat-back, dual core high-flow resonator & 4" exit tips. I'll be losing the resonator once the mufflers are fitted to gain more ground clearance again.

Excellent resonators ZEES. The sound is quiet and banks looks beautiful on your SC 400.
Very good.

Just had my mufflers fitted up & resonator removed once again. Happy with the results, just need some headers fitted!

Default My 98 sc400 exhaust set up

I would first off like to apologize because I am new and don't know what hell I am doing. Here's a few pics of my exhaust set up. Its 2 1/2 stainless steel piping with v-band clamps and it is also fully tig welded. I am using a 2 in/2 out Borla center muffler with a built in x-pipe. The 2 rear mufflers are just used basically for tips. They are stainless ebay no names with the tips cut to the contour of the rear bumper. I must say that it took a few attempts to get it right but I am so pleased how the sound came out. No popping or raspy gargling sound. I hope I posted these pics correctly

Can someone help me understand what this guy has done to his car, based on what he says he just removed resonators and mufflers.

He kept all factory cats.

Would this pass PA state inspection with just catalytic converters on there?

Depends entirely upon where you live and what testing they do.

I live in Philadelphia PA, I will have the shop assist me as they have equipment to run emission tests, if it doesn't pass, I will get them to resolve it! I love that video!

Have a HKS carbon fiber slip on with 3 inch straight pipe from turbo back. I am looking to possibly remove the slip on and put the factory oem mufflers back on. I wanted to keep the 3 inch back to them, but wondered if this will hinder the performance or will need a retune? I am wanting to change some things up and fill the hole in the bumper. What are my options? Will it hinder the response now, or make it worse? Who has a swap that had a single and went back to duals?

^^^ I bet the sound of your car will be different and you probably are right , with the way stock mufflers are constructed , they will be restrictive since they are not straight through tubes. They have resonators to cancel some frequency to lessen the noise. In my opinion, will have an effect in the way your car runs due to back pressure. Maybe if you want to go dual , cheapest way is just get straight through pipes exhaust fabricated for you but that will probably be noisy.
