What about it? Doesn't even have Waze and google maps is pretty wonky on CP and also can't stream YT or Netflix .

Fixed (kinda)! I updated Maps. When I started AA, Maps had the black background, but was the full length of the screen. If I open a 2nd app, I can now to get back a full screen by pushing the Maps button. I went into settings for the maps app (on my phone) and it was set to white background 'all the time'. I changed it to 'adjust', which I think makes it white during the day, dark at night, and still dark. Tried rebooting the phone many times. Hate the dark background, very hard for me to see street names. Going to try to solve this; seems like I'm doing something wrong. I've had a white background on maps since I got the car in May and haven't changed any settings.

 

With regards to your issue with Google Maps being locked on dark mode even after changing that particular setting in the Google Maps app on your phone, please be aware that there is a similar setting for Android Auto that may be taking precedence over the Google Maps setting. On your phone, navigate to the Android Auto settings (usually listed somewhere within your phone's general settings) and view the selected option under "Day/Night mode for maps" and change it if need be. Hope this helps.

Back to white background (w/ full screen!)!!. Had my AA phone app set to automatic, and changed it to day. Apparently the current version of maps has a bug which makes the background dark all the time when used thru AA app, when you choose automatic. Thanks Fred & others for helping me thru this!!!
