Any “Euro” 5w-30 from a reputable blender, or Redline 10w-30.

Will meet the higher demands the turbo needs, meet a minimum HTHS of 3.5. EZPZ. The Redline 10w-30 is superior, but pricier than the Euro 5w-30s.

To find out what oil your car takes look at the little sticker found in the engine bay. Pretty easy not rocket science. They also provide you with an owners manual too. Most countries specify 0w-16 some 0W-20. Full synthetic. Most important to follow regular change intervals. I wouldn't bother throwing money down the drain with pricy oils. Toyota brand does the job no problem.

Watch this video to see what the inside of a typical oil pan looks like. The amount of dirty oil left in the pan after a drain will shock you! That's why regular oil changes are a good idea.

between time stamp 8:20 to about 9:20

Thanks for the recommendations! I’m new to turbo charged engines so just wanted to know what you guys are using if instead of the oem recommendation written on the oil cap.

My opinion... When deviating from the factory recommendations cutting short your interval is far more important than changing viscosity. If I was located in the molten lava south, or tow, or race, or spend long periods of time in soul crushing traffic I'd certainly consider a higher viscosity oil especially for summer, but around these parts blazingly hot is 30C/85F for a few weeks a year and the rest of the time is mild to cold, my commutes are mostly calm free flowing, and while I do occasionally let'er go those times are unfortunately not that availably often. Outside of summer I'm actually more concerned about the oil not getting fully up to operating temp rather than too hot too long (I usually keep the oil temp gauge visible on my dash most of the time). I have no problem sticking with 0w20 but my relationship with each oil change is more like a casual fling than a long term commitment. I would rather have my turbo bathed in new 0w20 than old 10w30 anytime (not that frequent changes and higher vis oil is mutually exclusive though).

Time and temperature means a lot. The 2nd number for viscosity ratings is your viscosity at 100C, so if your engine is running on the mild side (its not super hot outside, you're not stuck 2 hrs in heavy traffic, etc., not towing at 90mph) then the actual viscosity will be a tad higher than rated. If your oil is old and diluted with fuel or other contaminants, your viscosity is probably now lower than rated. All my (Lex, Toy, Hon, Sub) cars at home of various ages over the last 20 yrs have all run 0w20, none have had engine issues or even a hint of oil burning even into 2nd decade / high mileage so for me, in my driving conditions and climate it seems to do the job. The turbo gets the same treatment, just more often.

I'm at 17 months ownership and only 7100 miles. I've had both my complimentary services (oil change, filter, 1 rotation) and just got a reminder call from Lexus saying it may be time to get serviced. I used to own a Camry and so I got service quote from them for $119. What would you all do and when? I OFC like saving money but don't want to be pound foolish. If I go to Camry should I confirm its an OEM filter? Anything else?

I assume you mean a Toyota dealer? They will only have OEM filters and oil so no need to worry about that. How much is Lexus charging you for the same service?

Yes, Toyota. So I just got off the phone with Lexus and they're not recommending I get that oil change just yet. They rattled off a bunch of other service issues I should get addressed next month. It included things like wipers and a key fob battery, but I'd rather do that stuff myself or bring the wipers to Toyota. Lexus was supposed to email me 2 options of service (neither with an oil change) but they haven't yet. I'm in a holding pattern for now. Sound like my call was kind of a cold call for more business ???

I always get a chuckle about the fact that often dealers are so set against early oil changes because they are bound by Lexus decree to follow the maintenance schedule (even against customer requests), but will happily convince customers to get expensive (and very usually unnecessary) annual wheel alignments because Lexus doesn't put them on the maintenance schedule. You can't get an early oil change but they are happy to perform other "unnecessary" services <\satire>

I have a '22 NX350H has about 57,000 kms or 36K miles. I still have my original wipers and have just decided now to replace all 3 of them as our next Canadian winter is on the way so I figured it's a good time. They're actually not performing all that bad I just don't want them to let me down this winter when I need them most. The cost for each blade insert is only $13 Canadian and install is quite easy to do. Lots of youtube videos will show you how easy it is. Air filter is about $38 CDN and Cabin Filter is $56 CDN this is the good OE Charcoal filter not econo one too. All parts are Toyota OE brand and will be installed for free with my Lexus ECP ext. warranty during my next Service 1 complimentary service where they do a complete inspection of all filters fluids and brakes. So while they'll be 'looking' at the filters I said I'll provide them will you install for free? Yup. I've replaced original air & cabin filters at about 18k miles initially so these are second replacements. Bought them online at the nearby Toyota dealer owned by same owners who have a Lexus dealer a few doors down. Lexus dealer online prices were a few bucks more each. They're cheaper online by about $29 total and I just order up and pay online and ask for a pick up at the Toyota dealer for only $2 fee.

I've replaced my key fob battery twice in 3 years. So simple to do, again youtube video it, it's very easy to do. Your Lexus app under Health tab will tell you key fob battery health too so go look there if you're concerned about the fob battery.

The free maintenance services I get with my ECP were allowed to be parsed up, so I could choose when to 'cash in' my 3 free oil changes, my one free brake fluid replacement, 3 tire rotations and 3 Inspections of brakes fluids, filters, underbody leaks ie trans, diffs, coolant lines.

I called Lexus dealer parts and used my VIN and they gave me all the correct part numbers for my car then I used the Toyota parts site to purchase them all cheaper!
(note there are a few #s used for rear wiper blade apparently so my VIN confirmed which I've got)

As of November 4, 2025
  • Windshield Wiper Blade Refill Rear. Part Number: 85214-42040 Your Price $ 13.00 CAD MSRP $15.00 CAD
  • WIPER. Blade Insert Left Part Number: 85214-02340 Your Price $ 13.00 CAD - CA MSRP $15.00 CAD
  • Wiper Blade Insert Right Part Number: 85214-0R040 Your Price $ 13.00 CAD - CAD MSRP: $ 15.00
  • CABIN AIR FILTER PN: original equipment pn: 87139-0E040 Your Price $55.68 CAD MSRP $63.00 - (economy part is 87139YZZ93)
  • ENGINE AIR FILTER PN: 17801-77050 or new # 17801-F0020 Your Price $37.38 CAD MSRP $45.75 CAD

USE LEXUS SITE TO GET PART NUMBERS THEN PUNCH THEM IN ON TOYOTA PARTS SITE.

https://parts.performancelexus.ca/

USE TOYOTA SITE WITHOUT PUTTING IN YOUR MAKE AND MODEL OR VIN BECAUSE IT WILL NOT LOOK FOR PARTS FOR A LEXUS. USE LEXUS SITE TO GET PART NUMBERS THEN PUNCH THEM IN ON TOYOTA PARTS SITE.

TheCDN, thanks for the good info! I'm still wondering how long I can/should wait to get an oil change and rotation. I had both done 5 months ago and I've only put 1,650 miles on the car since then. Lexus wants me to consider the 3 services options that I'll try to upload here, but I'm leaning toward skipping all of them until its time for the oild change. When do you all think that should be? BTW I'm also thinking I'll just replace my own wiper blades, air filter and cabin filter in the meantime.

I also have low mileage on the ICE engine in my PHEV, so go with six month intervals.

First off the hybrid doesn't have any driveshafts so there's no bolts to tighten! They have electric motors drive the wheels. You can see your keyfob health on the app and you will also get a notification on drivers screen when you start car up if battery is getting weak too.

Have your oil changed every 6 months no matter how many miles you have driven since last oil change. So regardless on your low interval of 1,650 miles you're almost at 6 months so plan to change oil at 6 months, if you hit 5,000 miles before 6 months then get oil done then and don't wait to hit the 6 months interval. If you think you're gonna continue with low mileage use, rotate your tires every 3 - 5,000 miles these need not be done based on date just miles. Looking at your dealer's pricing, I'd go with the cheap one. You can use your manual if needed to find things, but looking at all the fluid reservoirs found under the hood is easy. They shouldn't ever need filling up unless something is leaking, except washer fluid. Always check fluid levels every month or so at most. I make it a habit of popping open the hood to take a look around when I wash the car or put in washer fluid. Brake fluid will lower very little as your brake pads wear but don't top up as when they're replaced the reservoir will overflow by pressing in the calliper pistons to insert new thicker pads.

Yes replacing all the filters is really easy on the car. Don't forget to pull off the cover for the hybrid battery fan opening found on bottom right corner of rear passenger seat. Just carefully unscrew the plastic screw open it up and the filter will come out with the cover. You can carefully remove it, give it a gentle vacuum make sure it looks pretty clean and put it back in making sure not to flip the orientation so outside stays as outside surface.

I've bought an extended warranty offered here in Canada that Lexus bundles up with 4 years of specific services included and so I can get a few things done without paying for them.
