Question Oil change question

I have heard that the Lexus dealers add some kind of additive to the oil when they perform an oil change. That is why Lexus cars are able to go for 5000 miles before they need an oil change. But without the additive the oil must be changed every 3,500 miles. This was told to me by my Toyota dealer. Is this statement true or false and if it is true where would I be able to purchase this additive for my RX300?? Thanks

Interesting, even to a user of synthetic.

I agree with parula: interesting.

But false, as far as I know. That is the factory recommended oil change interval.
