Unhappy My first 25 NX problem

Today when I pulled the hood release handle/lever to open the hood, something popped and the hood didn't release.
I found that the lead lug on the cable end popped out of it's socket on the handle.
I just pulled on the cable to open the hood, no problem.
Has anyone ever pulled that whole panel off that houses the trunk release handle ?
I'd like to take a closer look to see what happened - photos below

Sounds like a covered by warranty issue!

Looks like the one side of the plastic bits on the handle that hold the cable end broke away. Any bits on the floor?

I would bring it back to the dealership to replace. No point in fixing a brand new car.

Yes , I found a black plastic piece on the mat. As you said it’s probably broken off from the handle.

Why does it have to be plastic?

The hood release pull/handle is made of plastic, can't say why.

Definitely bring it back to dealer and have them go through the whole hood latch setup to see why it broke off. It's under warranty still I'm sure.

If my memory serves me correctly, the pull tab should be able to go through it's full stroke, and by then the pull handle will almost be at a horizontal position and basically out of travel, and still not see any resistance from the cable enough to pull it out like that.

Curious how the handle snapped. is there resistance at the hood side?

you'd think in 2025, it would be electronically actuated. you'd delete 6 feet of steel cable. instead you can have 1 feet of cable for cases you need a manual pull.

While this one malfunctioned, don’t think you want to make the hood electric with all the 12 volt battery issues. Need to be able to open the hood with a dead battery.

The 3rd gen NX will have a 12V charging/boosting port on the side of the car with a flap! LOL Stop wasting gas on charging 12V batteries, that's what household AC power is for.

.
I’m not sure but have two guesses: I may have pulled the handle too enthusiastically, or it may have been weakened at installation, it looks like the cable needs to be twisted a lot to get into position.
