Default Turn OFF headlights

Here’s a stupid question….there’s no “Off” position on the headlight stalk. In some other cars, you can at least have the light off by leaving the parking brake engaged when starting the car, and no lights would be on until you release the parking brake….but there seems to be no way to turn off the headlights in the Nx?

what if I’m at a drive-in theatre or something similar? How do we keep like the radio on, but exterior lights off? Is it possible?

It should be possible: https://www.google.com/search?q=how+...hrome&ie=UTF-8.

PS: What is a drive-in theater?

The US version has DRL OFF. I would guess it's some legal mandate in Canada.

Sorry - I forgot to consider Canada when I posted my response.

I believe if you pull into your spot in the drive in and put it in park,
set the parking brake or ensure the auto parking brake feature is engaged,
shut off car,
either open and close the door or exit vehicle and return, to time out the lights or roll stalk on and off to force them off.
then restart the car and confirm the parking brake is engaged by seeing the red coloured logo lit up on dash, the car is now sitting in ready mode
the parking lights should NOT come on now
When in ready your engine will turn on and off as needed so you can keep the windows rolled up to keep the mosquitos out and turn on the AC or Heat and run interior lights if needed too.

So basically only when you have previously set the parking brake on before shutting the car off, when you return to restart the car and do not put it into drive, the parking lights will not come on. As soon as you put it in drive they will come on and will not turn off until you shut off the car completely and have timed out the delayed off for lights or If it's dark out and you have your light switch set to auto then when put into drive the full headlight system comes on and the DRL's turn off.

Clear as mud?

I’ll have to try that……I’ll admit my eyes glazed over halfway thru that and I was worried you were going to do one of those copy pasta twist pranks at the end! That’s….insanely complicated!

Well I just tried it myself tonight and it doesn’t work. If you turn on engine or put it in ready mode with the parking brake still set the parking lights come on if it’s dark outside. Sorry I thought I had solution but no. 🤨
