Is it possible to get the digital key package installed after buying the car?

No. And you don't want it anyway. It is not reliable at the moment due to poor design. Hopefully Lexus removes it asap until they can get it to work like Apple iOS/Android key work. It is based on cloud servers that are not reliable at the moment unlike the iOS/Android versions.

Good to know. I am frustrated that Lexus has not provided a second key yet. I bought my car 6 months ago!

I am curious what you are referring to here. Remove the digital key until it can work like the IOS/Android key? The digital key IS the iOS/Android Lexus App key, is it not?

In the future, when you buy a car tell the dealership you won’t accept the car with only one key.

They will sell you keys all day long. Smart Card, Valet key.

Don’t give them 50K till they have a second key. Then in a year when Lexus sends you one. You will have 3 of them

I guess they should have asked if you were ok to not have a key for one year. If you need two keys, then they will put you on another allocation list which will give you 2 keys. You will just need to wait for the car longer until they have stock for two keys. 🤷‍♂️

Like I said

If you walk into a dealership today. They will sell you a key

So if they can sell you a key. You can demand to have two keys upon delivery. Or you will not be buying the vehicle.

Does it have to be an exact duplicate of the one key they have from the factory? No

But it will be a key that works

When I buy my next vehicle in 2024. I will tell the dealer. I need a Smart Card Key upon delivery. They can either say no problem. Or I can say no deal

If I'm understanding right, don't get the digital key and you will get 2 key fobs. Right?

I received all four (card, 2 keys w/fobs and digital via app) when I purchased my car (August 2022)

I have been using the Digital Key for about 3 months. Works absolutely perfect for me.

As for the 2 key thing... would I have liked to have both when I bought the car, sure. How often the past 35 years have I lost a key and needed it? Um... not once.

Or they can tell you no... and you can buy from someone else.

Nice. I found that the digital key package is linked to the wireless charger. So I guess I have to order it.

My friend has lost them before. I try to keep the car keys close by.
