Default message about new key ?digital key

got message in dashboard like:

A New Key has been Registered Contact Your Dealer for Details

I had registered a digital key a little earlier I assume that is what this is about, does anyone know if that is correct? Not the clearest message. Why contact dealership?

Thanks

to make sure no one cloned your key to steal the car later.

It's just to tell you a new key was registered and to contact the dealer if it was not you. It will go away about a week or 10 days.

I just picked up my car yesterday, and I had the digital key set up in my phone.

I am starting to see this message now. So it is nothing of concerned ?

No, nothing of concern. It is confusing, but it's only an informational message. It should go away in a couple of weeks.

What he said

According to the manual, 10 days. Just a friendly FYI in the rare case someone managed to get a hold of your phone or account and grant themselves a digital key, the car keeps you in the loop. If you did it, no worries.

Mixed reports in the U.K. Lexus owners group. In NX cars delivered last week, one with Two fobs and card key, another with just one fob and metal key and a third with one fob and card key. I am supposed to collect my Takumi in two days and waiting to see how many keys. With cars all being built in Japan and all at the same time, it does seem uncomfortable that some seem to be having priority, whether customer priority or dealer priority is not known.

Perhaps not. We have been told that the card key has been removed from the U.K. spec due to added security that was not possible with the card key - but there again Can you really trust anything that Lexus tell you nowadays?

yes! Very lucky. Got my 2024 RX350 last week. Also got “Lexus owes you” for my 2nd fob.

Oh my, I hope you get your second hey fob soon. Life just isn't the same with only one key fob.

YMMV,

I am in the same boat. But I treat the credit card size key as the 2nd key. I like it even though it has fewer functions than the FOB.
