Second key fob
Has anyone received their second key fob? I am about to take possession of my NX 350h and am curious how long the wait will be for the second fob. Doesn’t seem like much of a priority for Lexus to get the secondary fob out in a timely manner. We shall see…
Just called Lexus Canada, still getting the same line; "it's coming soon" and "delay is due to parts shortages". Agent sounded like she was reading from a script.
My issue is the selling dealer is over an hour drive away, through some nasty traffic. I asked if they could re-route it to my local dealer, but they (Lexus) can't. Suggest I speak with the selling dealer. So that'll add time or force a trip to where I really don't want to go.
Took delivery Feb 14, coming up on 2 months now. Not a big issue, have the one fob and digital keys set up on our phones as well as the credit card key. But the latter is a lot thicker than a credit card, so am not carrying it around.

I spent several months on a RAV4 waiting list before deciding to switch order to NX. After spending months on RAV4 forums, those people were in the same situation. RAV4s coming with only 1 fob (as were other Toyota models too), and many had been already waiting 6 months or more for their second fob. Several commentors broke down and purchased a second fob because it was just too painful to wait (I believe RAV4 no option for digital key or card key that is available on many NXs). So its not just a case of Lexus being lazy at ponying up a few thousand key fobs, its a case of Toyota & Lexus being behind tens of thousands, maybe even over hundred thousand key fobs from their supplier.

If you need a key. Go to your dealership. They have all kinds. Regular FOB, Smart Card or maybe the old style Valet key
If they have one you like. Buy one. Or tell the manager to front it to you. And they can keep the one Lexus sends in a couple months.

Just got my new NX350 last week and it came with only one fob too. 😕
Dealer provided the « mechanical key » of the second fob and said the fob would come in the summer. However, that does not match what @SgtLip got on his note… 🤔

@SdeGat Can you determine when your vehicle was actually produced? My Vehicle was produced in January 2023 so my date is shown as TBD even though my salesman said it would be in Summer this year. So I personally feel he said something having not read the document he handed me.
God knows when I will have mine…
