Default Weak Brakes

Has anyone noticed that the brakes on the NX are weak?

Since I got into the 2020 NX, the car has never been able stop on the dime or close to it.

There are no evident issues with vibrations, leaks, or alignment of any sort, but I did bring it in for an inspection several months ago due to a faint noise under the driver's side dashboard/footwell area and the dealership ended up resurfacing the rotors. I suspect there was air/moisture in the brake fluid even though the pedal did not feel spongy, but it was somewhat soft and not as firm as it should be. I am thinking of testing the brake fluid for next steps.

If you pump the brake pedal 1 time during application, do the brakes feel noticeably different?

I did discover when I finally did my own brake service on it that the place where the pads slide was abnormally tight and the tabs needed a smidge of filing to slide properly.

Default Brakes and turns

Yes, I noticed that. I assumed my treads had worn down but now I have brand new tires and tires at still the same.
Also I feel unsafe when I turn. It feels as if I might tip over if I don’t slow down to a crawl while turning

Are you referring to the brake shims or the rotors? I wasn't aware that mine came with any shims. If rotors, then yeah the pads should not be too tight against the surface. As for the tabs/clips, a little bit of lubricant will do too.

This isn't for the NX, but same idea...basically where the brake pad itself rides in the pad retainers was excessively tight. Cleaning and then lube wasn't enough.
