Default Brakes after 3 years normal use - any solution ?

I picked up a cpo 2016 base NX. All good thanks to all the info and stuff I learned here from you guys. Only thing is the brakes. Very soft and require some effort when braking at speed. When compared to my other cars like CRV, Civic they appear weak. Basically there is no "bite". What did you guys do to get back that new car brake feel. Once you get used to it it does not bother that much. I dont want to go overboard like brembos and what not but ok with changing rotors to drilled and so on if it helps. Please let me know what you did if any to improve the brakes. I have googled /searched and bit overwhelmed with solutions like new calipers, replace master cylinder, brake booster adjust etc.. Thanks

How many miles on the brakes? Are you sure they're functioning normally? When were they last serviced? What was the fluid last changed?

The OEM hardware is decent enough, especially considering how much heavier the NX is than the other vehicles you listed.

25,000 miles. Going to dealer one of these days. Will update if fixed. Maybe just some adjustment needed then.

Yeah, so 25k miles at most they should need a service (basically they lube up the components) and maybe a brake fluid flush. There's actually nothing to adjust on the brakes.

What you are experiencing is normal for cars manufactured by Toyota. Honda have brakes that bite with minimal modulation of the brake pedal. You can take your NX to a mechanic and do a brake flush, which will eliminate any air in system, thus reducing the travel.

Check if rotors are glazed. This may happened after 25K miles. Glazed rotors require more effort on brake pedal.

You are right. Drove a brand new nx300 and it feels about the same. My first Lexus and never owned a Toyota before. Just something to get used to I guess..

Can someone enlighten me on this curiosity......2016 NX FSport has soft brakes, meaning i need to press deeper.
2017 RX FSport has harder brakes, meaning less pressure.
Think I read somewhere the brakes are engineered differently, but thought maybe someone could give easy explanation.
