See MY signature! I have a full-blown multimedia CarPC in my SC430. Oh yeah, I've installed car stereos!
But seriously, I worked for 7 years installing and maintaining commercial two-way radios. Before that, i was in the military for 7 years working as an electronics technician. While I'm not a hard-core custom stereo installer, I'm not being arrogant when I say that I know what I'm doing when it comes to electronics.
Just a general statement...I do think that everyone should be mindful of WHAT projects they bring that day/plan to do. If everyone arrives with an all-day project in mind that they're going to need some help with, I don't think anyone's going to get their project done.
yeah, what Habious said is true, I'm not really in any rush to get mine done.
I'll just bring it along just in case.
Bossgs4, I am really good with electronics and stereos too, so I'm sure between me and Habious you should be fine. I just don't usually like to take peoples stereos out from the dash just cause I wouldnt want to scratch anything. but wiring in the stereos, amps, woofers, screens is cake.
I hear you man. Liability. When people have asked me for help, I always start by saying "Keep in mind, I'm NOT an licensed, bonded professional". I did work for one gentlemen from the SC430 board who is local. He's a lawyer and he was nice enough to draft and sign a waiver of liability for me before I did the work. Always good to CYA.

Well said. I have been trying to convey this all along. Lets leave the engine rebuilds and swaps for another time
NOTE: Another reason I am trying to make the above clear is that I don't loan my tools out. I don't want to seem like a "donkey" but I have lost alot of tools that way, not by people intentionally wanting to keep the tools but everyone forgets and next thing you know you don't know where that tool is that you KNEW you had but can't find. If this is a deal breaker for anyone please let me know but I will apologize ahead of time for this policy.
Keep in mind...This is NOT a one shot deal I will have more of these I just need to see how the first one goes and make changes accordingly and we can set additional dates.
So far looks like 4/12/08 is the winner by a long shot. By the end of this week I will be asking for job list of attendees and setting up the "start" time for the event. If there are issues with a certain job we can continue on Sunday for those who are free that day too. I have cleared the whole weekend just in case.
they seem to be going for about 200 new, a little less on ebay (+40 shipping).
I found them on hopupracing.com for 237 with free shipping.
just search for tanabe nf210.
drop is 1.2 front and 0.9 rear. gonna rock the stock shocks because they are basically brand new. I dont/wont expect to get full life out of them but the tanabe's are pretty close to stock spring rates so who knows.
hey anyone know how to do the gated shifter swap? the biggest thing is wiring the overdrive to work when i flip the shifter over to 3. if no one knows how to do it then i guess i'll just buy some new springs and shocks for the meet.
Rolxus, this sounds like it is going to be great meet. Thanks for volunteering to open the local season by hosting this event. I will try to attend and lend a hand if my schedule permits.
How many people are planning on lowering their cars and who has NEVER done it before? I just want to get an idea so that no one is attempting to do so without someone with experience. Can't wait for this one.
With the number of guys this is attracting I think it would be prudent to schedule the jobs everyone is trying to complete. If we knew how many spaces you had to work on cars we could assign types of job to the spaces. This would avoid things like tools moving to different spaces .. .people waiting for tools ... etc.
SPACE 1 (Springs) SPACE 2 (Suspension) Space 3 (Electronics)
This will also help us figure out what tools, jacks, ramps, stands we need to bring. If we have a bunch of guys for one type of job we could have them run in spaces next to each other and we could just put names in a hat and draw to see who goes first for each space.
