Most of the dedicated mambers here use Gazi who is a fellow CL member here as well as a heck of a mechanic. Gazi goes by the CL name ALIGA here on CL. Would also suggest getting in contact with Todd(Rising Sun), or Tone(NYARISTO). Those guys are off the hook and really know their stuff. If you choose to do the dealer things then one of the local NY members will have to chime in.
I've had the best service with Lexus of Rockville Centre even though I purchased my car from Bay Ridge Lexus in 2000. Bay Ridge has changed for the worse imo ever since they changed management. Service Consultant Gerado Giannattasio at Lex of Rockville Centre is a real good person to deal with
Gazi is excellent when it comes to repair that does not require calibration via Lexus factory scantool. He has worked on many of our cars with excellent results.. Coilover suspension install, brakes, are just some of the things he has done for me with great results.
What service are you looking to have done on your car?
Lexus of Smithtown provides EXCELLENT service to all Lexus owners, but their prices are a bit steeper than most. They are definitely top notch on service, they don't shy away at anything. I even got a new 2IS as a day loaner a couple months ago when I had them look at the rear hub in my SC. They took 3 hours to diagnose a broken wheel bearing, and best of all only charged me 1 hours labor diagnosis rate. Also its far for yall to come out here, I live 5 minutes from these guys tho.
i have a problem with a check engine light with something regards to a solenoid in the transmission...anyone know who might be able to diagnose the problem further and possibly fix it as well? won't pass NYS inspection with the check-engine light on. it's a 1999 LS400 btw.
