i need help changing my battery since it has decided to crap out and stop working. is this an easy procedure or not for an sc300...please offer suggestions and if any of you have actually done it before...i would appreciate it if you could explain to me how to do it rather than go to the dealer where they will charge me 98 dollars for the battery and $85/hour for their freakin labor.
Replacing your battery is probably the easiest thing you can do to your car. Just watch when you are loosenign your connections that you don't touch your tool to anything metal or spakrks will fly!!! And make sure you tighten it back up really well.
for safety sake, lay an old towel or T-shirt over the old battery when disconnecting the wires and removing the battery. If you are a novice, and something should happen (ie, sparks) it will help contain an accidents. Keep in mind the battery does contain concentrated sulfuric acid.
Originally posted by bizzy928 Take a wrench, losen the negative wire, take it out. then losen the positive wire, take it out.
then losen the battery holster, take it out.
Then take out your battery.
I would wait maybe 30 mins so I could reset the EFI settings.
Then stick the new battery in and do the above in reverse.
Just to elaborate on the " do the above in reverse " . Hook/tighten the positive cable first, then the negative.
So removal should be negative then positive
Installation should be positive then negative

Take it AutoZone or Pep Boys and they will change it for you for nothing. All you need to do is buy the battery.
