After buying my 94 ES300 from Carmax, I took it to McGrath Lexus in Chicago to have it checked out. I was very impressed with the level of service I received, especially considering I was bringing in an 8 year old car that I hadn't bought from them. They didn't try to get me to do any unnecesarry work (the only thing they mentioned was that the car still had its original battery, but that it had tested out fine). When I first brought the car in, he was able to look up the service history on the car (from the VIN) and gave me a printout of all work that had been done. Since this is my first luxury car, I was also impressed that they drove me back to my office and deducted my return cab fare from the bill, but I presume this is standard luxury car treatment.

Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with chicago area dealers? At this point I was so impressed with the dealer's service I intend to get my car serviced there regularly (or as regularly as a lexus needs servicing).

 

dude, just found this post. I go to McGrath also and i get nothing but the best service. The guys in parts have a few screws loose themselves but i rarely visit them. Any parts should be obtained from Steve G. at Carson Toyota. Welcome to clublexus also, enjoy!

I'm always at McGrath on Division. I work right by there and often get my car washed there. Mark Maclawhorn (service manager) is the coolest guy I've met over there. Very friendly and exceptional service.

 

yeah, i deal with mark also....he's a cool guy. i get both my cars serviced there.
