listen to see if the fuel pump is working. Turn the key to the ON position but don't crank it, and listen if there is a buzzing noise(coming from the rear of the car) for a few seconds. Check the battery connection.

does it sound like it cranks faster than normal maybe???

there are a ton of possible reasons (fuel pump, electrical, sensor, computer, etc), but the first one that usually comes to mind when its just random "was running fine, died, won't restart" is that it could be a timing belt issue... take the plastic cam cover off one side and check to see if the belt is there and is tight...

this is about the easiest thing to troubleshoot, but one of the harder ones to fix... IMO, you might be lucky if it is the timing belt - its just labor and a few parts... the hard, expensive ones are the problems that require lots of time troubleshooting...
