Problem with Lexus Platinum Warranty. Any advice ? PLEASE HELP !
I purchased my 2006 GS 300 from an auction; Friday, December 11th. Naturally I went on this site to read all the interesting tips and tricks for my car. I read that the car has recalls. I called in to check if the recalls had been taken care of and I was told that I had Lexus Extended Platinum Warranty until 100,000 miles or February 2013.
I immediately scheduled an appointment with warranty but when I arrived and sat down in the office, they told me that the name under the warranty and new owner did not match and that it would need to be transferred. I thought the warranty is automatically transferable but they told me that isn't the case.
I don't know how to reach the original owner, and I don't think it is fair for them to deny me service considering the warranty was paid for! And it is under the VIN of the car.
Can someone please give me some advice or perhaps help me in getting this straightened out?
