I primarily use WIX brand oil filters and synthetic oil. (Currently using Royal Purple but have also used Mobil 1) I check the oil level regulaly and I only change the oil when the computer says to change it, regardless of the miles. I drive mostly highway miles and I have had no problems. I've done this with my last 4 cars and haven't had any issues.

 

normally i've been using wix filters on my cars but when i do my newe motor i'll try using the oem one...
