Default Oil filter with non lexus (mobil 1 synthetic) oil?

Should I use a Lexus oil filter if I'm using Mobil1 synthetic oil, or should I go for a Mobil filter?

Also, how much oil do I need for 01 GS430?

I dont think it matters what oil filter you're using.

It doesn't matter what filter you use. You're not restricted to a Mobil 1 oil filter if you use Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

Edited because it looks like my price remark was a little inflamatory and I didn't want to start yet another X filter is better than Y filter debate. Sorry.

As long as the filter has an anti-drainback valve (which modern filters do) you should be fine with any brand

Actually this is pretty incorrect. Higher end filters will have a higher micron filtration. Sometimes the tradeoff to this high filtration is less flow, and so if you do get the engine running high speed the engine will bypass the filter so the engine gets proper lubrication.

Mobil one and AmsOil both have great filters that have a high micron rating and a very good flow rating. I usually get either of these for all 3 of my cars.

Oiling and Lubication is the most important part of the engine pretty much.

Since oil and filters are so crucial to a VW air cooled engine I found this link informative concerning oil filters:

I hope you find it useful.

The filter is as important as the oil...mabee more so. Toyota filter or K&N replaced every 5K miles at most, whether you drain the oil or not. .Always go with the best you can afford.

Heres a little info that Ive been privvy to for awhile.
My best friends mom used to work for the Department Of Energy and they conducted a test of oil filters probably 6-7 years ago, so they knew what was the best for their huge fleet of vehicles.
I dont remember the also rans but I DO remember Fram in all of its forms available at the time came in dead last.
The best they tested was Wixx and the other top ones were bosch and puralator.
At the time I dont believe Amsoil,Mobil One, or K&N had filters available.
Depending on what I can find I use either Mobile one or Wixx or K&N.
My personal experience is in line with their tests. I have seen with my own eyes, engines that were destroyed because a fram filter fell apart and the guts clogged the orifice, thus starving the engine of oil.
