Default Toyota Oil Filter 90915-YZZD1 $5.89

I went to Toyota dealer this morning and bought a 96 Toyota Supra oil filter Part #:90915-YZZD1 for only $5.89. Good price but what about performance???
I found a picture from RX300 forum.

This is our standard Toyota dealer purchased filter. For a paper filter, it's great... The cost is about retail.

My local dealer has those for $4.50, and there's some dealer here that has a 2 for 1 program.

Isnt the 90915-YZZD3 a larger filter for the LS 400 V8 which will fit the V6s? If so then the d3 has a larger capacity since it was design for the V8.

But using the stock filter uses five quarts even on an oil change. Using a larger filter will cause you to open an extra quart and use a quarter of it to fill the crankcase.

Yes the 90915-YZZD3 is a larger filter and it fits the V6's. I use it on my '96 ES 300. The 90915-YZZD3 replaced the 90915-20004 which was made in Japan and is discontinued. I purchased it today with a Toyota coupon for $3.49 plus tax.

Wrong! There‘s only a half inch difference between the two.
