hey everyone, just wondering how much around does a shop charge for changing the negative wire on the battery, my car got broken into last night, and the "A whole" cut my negative wire, so need to get that replace.
same thing with my driver side door, the "A whole" damaged the door lock, just how much is that to get that repair or replace.
Sounds like he cut the negative wire on the battery to cut off the OEM alarm system. If you're talking about the outside keyhole door lock, you probably have to get a new one.
yeah i m talking about the outside keyhole, and if that's the case, i m pretty sure that i have to bring it to a lexus dealer right, will toyota dealer work??
The amount will generally depend on how much damage there is. Did they totally remove the particular lock and is that cylinder gone? Or is it still "somewhere"? Were they "nice" A-holes and cleanly snipped off a little end of the negative terminal (probably not) wire so there's enough length to just put on a new terminal? Or in their hurried attempt did they just cut the crap out of it at some random place?
what i think they did was like rgarjr said that person cut the wire to cut the OEM alarm off while working on the car, but couldn't take out the head unit so just took my CDs and the battery, and i already got the battery terminal fix.
and the lock, somehow, that person used something to create a whole right next to the keyhole and got in from there. my key can still turn to unlock the car, but it does send the signal to the computer to dis-arm the alarm so i can't fire up the car. so now inorder for me to drive, i have to unlock the car from the passager side, so that i can drive the car. any advice and help on that will be very appreciate. thx
