Default Battery questions?

I was wondering how many years the original battery lasted. I recently bought a '99 GS 400 that has a 65 month battery in it. If the original battery made it 4 years then I should be able to get through this winter before replacing this one (I don't expect this one to be good for more than 3.5-4 years at most). Any opinions?

I have 2 original Toyota batteries (made by GNB Technologies..Exide). One is 7 years old the other is 6. I'm thinking of replacing the 7 year old because it's sulfating heavily now. The other has minor sulfating just begining on the negative terminal.

Lexus and Toyota use relabeled Interstate batteries to replace the Yuasas that originally came with the car. If your car is essentially stock, I recommend any Group 24 battery. If you tend to blast your aftermarket amps with the engine off, then you may want to invest in an Optima. Good luck.

3 years. Then the next one only 2 years.

Switched to an Optima Red Top and have been loving it ever since.

An Optima Yellow Top, definitely if you will be banging bass.
