My CEL came on, and I retrived a code 13, which means no NE signal to ECU. Does this mean the distributor is bad?
I also found this, a 2-wire connector with a bear wire sticking out of it, and I used a DMM to check if it is connected to something, it tells me it was continuity to the red wire. Here's a pic of the connector:

Yep.. cam position sensor wiring. It can be intermittant, but ive seen it a thousand times. It happens because whoever did work on the car didnt secure the wiring in the clip on the front of the cam cover. You can either take it apart, cut and resolder the wiring, or you can buy a new sensor.

I fixed it, with a weatherproof butt splice and some electrical tape.
My '90 ls has thrown the same code - just recently had the timing belt replaced. Does this mean I should check the same connection? And what is an NE signal? Pardon my ignorance.

Ne=cam rotation
G=cam position, used by the ECU to set injector timing when the engine is cranking
took my car to lexus.. the code 13 was the result of the RPM signal being off, basically a good indication of a messed up timing belt installation . got it taken care of.. its all gravy baby
