the hood struts are totally dead. can't really find a direct aftermarket replacement. the price from carson toyota is about $75 for each.
so i search (like any other noob should right?)
came up with this link for the LS400.
http://www.cureline.net/lex/howtos/h...ood_shocks.htm
it's a really cheap fix ($16 bucks) for the LS hoods. any one tried this or know if this will work for the sc hoods? seems like the LS guys have some success in doing this.
thoughts? comments?
thanks!

if you go to www.autozone.com
look under parts for you car, under hood lift/support. That might work for you

If all else fails, there's always the simple redneck 2x4 fix. Buy a piece of lumber from Home Depot to prop it up.
I haved a 92 SC$ and replaced the trunk supports with ones from Autozone and they work great! Not expensive, so for the hood, probably worht a try. I will try that when mine go mad. Let us know if you try.
