I have to replace my winter tires for this season. I used Bridgestone Blizzak DMV1 at 275 /65 R18 size (Tundra/Sequoia size). They were great on snow but not so good on ice (not so bad but could be better). I've heard that the new DMV2 are much better.
What do you use? I don't need studdable tires, it's not necessary here at Lake Tahoe area.I am still considering Michelin LTX Winter or Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV.

After 15+ years in SW Idaho, I'd say Blizzak DMV2 is the best I've found. Ice doesn't stick long enough here to really need studded tires...size is 285/60-18. They're mounted on Tundra wheels and normally go on the truck from November to March or April.

Nokian Rotiiva A/T
I've had the Nokian Rotiiva A/T since April and very happy with them. An A/T Tire with the 3PMSF snowflake - All-Terrain and snow rated in 1 tire. Very quiet on the highway, grippy on dry and look great.

I hear great things about the Nokian Hakkapeliitta for other vehicles. I'm running BFG K02 All Terrains and they are pretty good in the snow as well, if you want to run an AT.

I run Michelin LTX AT2 and I know that they are not bad at snow and I would probably survive winter with them. But dedicated winter tires are better, especially if you have to drive in mountains.

Just had the Cooper Discoverer M+S mounted after 4 straight days of early season snow in Denver. Really excited for the next snow, they look like they will be awesome. I went with the 275/65/18 on the TRD 18" Wheels.
Discount Tire Direct has a great $ of $127 right now, about $90 less per tire than the Blizzak in this size, made it a no-brainer.

Welcome to Idaho. No snow yet in the Treasure Valley, but it's just a matter of time.
