Daylight Savings Time update
I have thousands of servers that have the same mechanism, this type of update has been used on computers for more than 20 years, it reliable and works. Although, as with everything, some things "break", but this should be straight forward and work like a charm. So if your 4th gen is like that, shame on Lexus. If it's a bug, glitch or they are just pointing to the wrong source for this update they need to fix it. It's little things like this that strike me really the wrong way with a luxury vehicle. They should be focused on these little obscure details. If they are missing or letting something so simple like this fail, what else are they overlooking. Does not spell quality.
The Lexus timekeeping is a manual switch, it was never intended to be automatic due to the constant change of location, and the political nature of daylight savings time in general. Instead, they provided you with a simple switch. Turn it on if you are located in an area that is on DST, and turn it off if the area is not on DST. They deemed that a simpler way than having to go in and change the actual hour of the clock. In older models, when you went back in the fall, you used to have to go 23 hours forward to get to the correct hour. The switch is easier.
