recalls are usually a safety issue. I don't think this would be categorized as that. It will probably be a tsb if it's widespread enough

thanks for the reply , does the coolant level go down once in a while randomly with the smell issue or car runs fine (even with coolant smell ) ? im debating between a ls500 and a GSF as well. Might wait till after elections and covid vaccine getting released however because the economy is shaky right now and a vaccine would revive the economy i think.

Bringing this thing back.

2024 also regular has that sweet antifreeze smell after driving.

If any of these original folks are still around, your smell is outside the car, correct? Not into the cabin?

I noticed engine coolant was below the low line awhile back. Thing is I never looked at it before so I don’t know if it was like that since day 1 or if it has been going down.

Refilled to full line. But I continue to smell sweet coolant smell.

I also had a post several weeks ago about clouds of smoke blowing out tailpipes getting on the expressway. I’ve paid a bit more attention and the smoke appears to be white or has a water vapor cloud look to it. I’ll follow up there but I wondering if any relationship with the coolant smell.

While most of us has experienced some smoke when opening the turbos us and getting on it, its not the same as coolant leaking in and leaving plume behind. If this of great concern take it in to be evaluated.

How many miles on the odometer and when was car last serviced? You have a '24 model?
Please follow up if you do and let us know.

Default White Smoke

If coolant level in reservoir on passenger side of car is not dropping, then that would rule out a leaking head gasket or any engine coolant leak for that matter. My car fills up road with white smoke in cool weather at high rpms when I floor it. Lexus tech at my dealership says it is condensation that has built up in the rather complex exhaust system.
I have been noticing this for almost 3 years now with no problems. I never have to add coolant to my car except for when I had a leaky water pump at 37,000 miles. It was replaced under warranty.

look at all of the places condensation can collect in an LS500 exhaust system: cats, gasoline particulate filters resonators, mufflers.
Hmmm, wonder how my car would run with a cat back exhaust system, just pipes?
