This is strictly a hypothetical question, but what if a person is driving an LS500 and experiences a coronary infarction and passes out?
Should the passenger:
1. Grab the steering wheel and try to steer
2. Push the start/stop button
3. Attempt to crawl over the console and reach the pedals
4. Push the emer. brake button
5. Tap the left paddle shifter and down shift
6. Shift into neutral.
7. Reduce speed with cruise control buttons if cruise is being used
8. Use a combination of some of the above
I would, if possible, clear the driver's legs and activate the DRCC and LTA as quickly as possible and then reduce speed via the DRCC buttons. Also, turn on the hazards and press the SOS button. At minimum speed, if the car does not come to a stop due to traffic, pull and hold the electronic parking brake button - my hope is that it will activate which will abruptly stop the car. If not, then I remove my seat belt and climb over to brake manually.
