LS600 led headlights - who has them? read inside pls
Hi
1. who has a ls460 and put on ls600 led headlights ?
2. And of those that did it which of you did it with stock originally for the Japanese market ?
3. How many of you here 600 Owner’s with led headlights .
if you guys can post back take some photos of your cut off and show me how far the beam casts onto the road that would be great.
so currently my drivers side is higher which is expected, so the method to aim headlights in the Owners manual only managed to lower drivers side by 3cm and up the passenger side by 6.
having said that I also seem to have 2 cut offs I see a line maybe 1 or 2 feet from the bumper then the beam also seems to end quite a bit shorter. So to determine the issue and fix it I need to know what’s normal. I’ll try to post some photos but if someone has posted beam photos let me know.
The brightest main part of the beam is about 35ft in front of the car. It's hard to judge the light pattern distributes very evenly.
When looking straight ahead at say a garage door the light stops about 3 feet up on the garage. My left and right lights look to cast a fairly straight line. I don't think one is higher than the other. I took a picture but I need to retake it another night.
If you like I can retake the shadow directly in front of the car. I didn't read your post correctly before I snapped these pictures.
hey thanks man for taking the time, so yours lis the LED version of the LS600? I find that my light is not as white as yours i shall have to take a proper look, i will msg you in private if you do not mind.
Have you changed your high beam bulbs before ? What bulb is it I checked the US manual and it says 9005 or 9006 I don’t remember and that equates to HB3, and it’s the same for the 460, I checked the 460 and the adapter thats fitted on in the factory is plastic and the bulbs are hb3, but on the 600 headlights that I have the adapter part is metal, has no markings on it , I tried fitting the hb3 bulbs on there it will not fit, the bulbs that are on there now are h7 or h9, which is odd.
also does anyone know if the rhd market cars have different parts for the led headlights or is it all the same and the cut off etc is just a matter of aiming, I’ve double checked and the headlight beam seems to be 5 meters or so, I shall need to test with a device to be sure.
but what would prevent the lights from being aimed? Could it be an internal issue ? Has anyone opened these up ?
they have bolt A which is in the middle and B which is at a bottom corner and that’s reached by a plastic tube thingy. I tried moving them on 2 extra headlights I have sitting around and I could not perceive any movement.
I tried on ny JDM xenon fogs and I can see the projector moving noticeably
Guys I have not actually done this with lights on but I can confirm the projectors are working.
what the Owner’s manual identifies as bolt A towards middle of the vehicle, that moves the high beam projector sideways ,you can use a Phillips on the gears but a 8mm wrench is easier. The plastic bolt B is an extender the actual bolt is right at the bottom right edge of the light, that moves the led projectors left and right, you must ensure the extender is fitted properly and is engaging and moving the gears is you don’t see the projectors moving for some reason .
now what they don’t tell you is the actual thing that moves the projector up and down and moves both up and down, this applies to the xenon ones too is a white plastic thing on the body of the light attached by a metal rod to another white plastic piece that moves both projectors in tandem. You need to use an Allen key or whatever it’s called that octagon tool, I used it with a wrench. In the loosening position of the wrench it lowers the projector in the tightening it raises. Hope this helps everyone
No, fortunately the lights are one of the few systems I've had no issues with. Here are a few pictures. The reflective background of my lights appears to be darker than others.
What are our drls btw ? Do they run off the high beams or something separate ?

The drl (day time running lights) on our type of 600 headlamp are a separate small yellow bulb. It looked incandescent to me due to the color. I have them turned off on all of our cars so I'm going off memory. From what i remember 460 and 600 drl looked the same.
Monza if you have 1 side not working I'd turn off the drl feature using techstream.
