As with many older LS460s, my navigation bezel was cracking at the top of the HVAC vents. It didn't bother me at first. However, they continued to crack and I knew I wanted to find a solution. My options were to either buy one of the faux wood kits that would cover the cracks or buy a replacement bezel.
I went with buying a replacement bezel and swapping over all the components (NAV, Nav/HVAC interface buttons, clock and emergency flasher button).
Overall I would say this was not terribly difficult. However, it did require some attention to detail as there are a number of clips and screws that need to be removed and swapped over correctly for everything to function well.
Below is the DIY I created for anyone wanting to attempt this swap. As with all DIY, this is how I did it. There may be other, better, ways to complete this. Please attempt this at your own risk. Nav units aren't terribly expensive used, but I'd hate to have dropped it and completely destroyed everything.
In addition, I have likely missed something in the DIY steps below, but I hope it helps anyone wanting to see the process first before attempting the swap. Again, it wasn't difficult, just more time consuming given you have to remove all of the components from the car first (without breaking anything) and then swapping over the components from the old unit again without breaking anything.

Just be careful. Removing the old components can crack/tear/break the dash components (especially if you have a melting dash) and the plastic is fairly brittle.
Zoraone, thank you for provided such detailed instructions. You have taken a lot of time and effort to document and clearly label all the steps. I wonder if you are a teacher!
I will never need these instructions, but I am sure they will come in handy for many. Great job!
I am waiting on my bezel to arrive. The old one broke to pieces after swapping the whole dash. Also make sure the two screws are installed. Mine were missing.
This thread was very helpful! The climate audio disp info buttons were not working on my car. I ordered the buttons off of ebay for $40 followed this thread for dismantling and reinstalling and everything works like a charm. Thank God for this forum and its contributors.
