Hello everyone,
New to this forum. I hope everyone is staying safe from the covid-19 and good luck to those who are struggling. I have a quick question. I fired my left driver door mpx module while doing some mod work on door light. My courtesy door light will not switch off even with door closed. Everything else work. Fuse is fine. Do you guys know if I buy a used mpx from eBay would work as simple as plug and play? Or do I need it to be reprogrammed? If so, would Lexus do it for a used one or would they only do it on new ones?
Ok I just verified with Lexus and they do not need to program this part. It is just plug and play. Window buttons will need to be reset however but that’s easy it’s on YouTube.
Could you provide me with the exact location of the mpx module? I believe that I am experiencing the same problem as you with both front doors. Thanks.
Hey it’s behind each door panels. You have to open the interior door panels to get access to it. Once opened you won’t miss it. You will see all the wires (lights, unlock/lock, soft closer) of that door is attached to that module. What’s wrong with your door?

Thanks for the response. I apparently shorted both front door mpx modules when changing to Led bulbs. The bulbs now stay on and I have changed both door jam switches without any success. Probably a good idea to disconnect battery when performing most types of electrical/electronic work on these cars which I didn't. You learn from the school of hard knocks.
Yea I learned that the hard way lol. Thank god those modules are cheap on eBay and no need for dealer to reprogram like the ECU. Good luck and stay safe!
I got the door sills here https://aoonuauto.com/ they are in China so it would take almost a month to get. The first time I ordered they mess up my order. The door sill flashes and I didn’t want that (look kinda juvenile) so they send me a new set that doesn’t flash and they let me keep the flash set. They responded super quick and I highly recommend them. As for the logo courtesy lights and seat covers (don’t want my seats to get rip in the long run lol), it was from Amazon.
Just a side note about the door sills. I soldered it to the logo courtesy door light so it is not just plug and play. You will have to do some electrical work to install them. I accidentally shorted the wire while doing the soldering. The LS is more complicated than your typical cars. The courtesy light is hooked up to the MPX unit which got fried. Make sure you pull the fuse or unplug the battery before any electrical work. Also, FYI, I didn’t have to program the windows after I switched the MPX. It was strictly plug and play.
