On another note, Jaguar in this area offers free loaner vehicles when you have your car serviced either in or out of warranty. They have an independent rental car company on the premises which makes thing very convenient.

Lexus dealers give loaners in and out of warranty too, almost all luxury car dealers do. The valet service is another matter.

Took my car to Lexus for a TSB. They gave me a loaner for the day, washed my car and filled it to the brim with premium gas when I picked it up. While I may not love my car, you can’t say enough good things about that kind of service!!

Its such a shame to see you unhappy with your new one when you were so happy with the other ones...

You paid for the wash and gasoline, in your bill for repairs. They're among the reasons (not the only one) independents charge about half what Lexus dealers do for work. I'm making no judgment on whether the perks are worth the extra cost,

Some day, you'll bring it in for repairs and pay. The car washer, and the gasoline cost the dealer $, which it must recoup somehow.

Lexus pays for the gasoline with that sort of recall/TSB scenario, the dealer doesn’t. The wash costs them basically nothing, Lexus dealers (as well as other luxury dealers and even some mainstream dealers) always wash cars when they are in for service.

In any event, yes you do pay for good service. That’s just a fact of life.

I’ve had 5 Lexus vehicles. The first two never went to the dealership. Oil changes done by independent. Numbers 3&4 only went in for a TSB or an oil change with a coupon. This one only the TSB. So it ain’t me paying for my free gas!

Most up here in the North don’t do it. I can only think of one Lexus dealer that will. But that said, after dropping it off, I don’t understand the obsession with a loaner. We are talking a $100K Lexus, that 1-2K a month in payments. I would rather just pay for an Uber all day long and drive the car I really want vs driving a car I sort of want but get a car that comes to me. Most new car don’t take more than 2 hours for service and most are once or twice a year visits

I understand the loaner, I don’t think the valet is that big a deal. I don’t have time to sit around the dealer. All luxury car dealers will at least give a loaner.

With valet, not only do you not have to sit around a dealer, you don't even go to a dealer. The auto the valet used to drive to you is left for your use until the valet returns your repaired vehicle.
