Default A few little issues...

First, How likely is it that the brake actuator issues will strike? Is it a "we can predict with reasonable certainty that it will happen to every LS460 made between VIN xxxxx and VIN yyyyyy"? Or a 50/50 shot?

Second, my blower motor intermittently makes a pretty horrendous noise. Generally if i hit a pothole or someone closes a door, it grinds/hums/rattles. Easy fix?

High pressure fuel pump seals are leaking oil all over the valve covers. Doesn't look too difficult but do i need Techstream to depressurize the fuel system?

Overall the car is great and for what i paid i have no complaints. Just want to fix these small issues, myself if i can.

According to my mechanic, most of them will have some symptoms of actuator issues, the question is whether they will be so bad that they require replacement. For instance with my car, if I were paying I never would have fixed it.

I think the blower motor is fairly easy accessed through the glove box area...

Brake actuator - who knows! I’m at 140k on my ‘08 and (knock on wood) so far so good.

I have the same problem with the blower motor - takes only few minutes to remove. There’s a nice write up somewhere here (searching on mobile is not very user friendly). Haven’t replaced it yet - will try the “fix” first.

Regarding leaky fuel pumps. There’s also a nice writeup somewhere in the sub-forum and off course YouTube is your friend if you want to tackle it yourself. I had my mechanic do the work for (iirc) ~$400.

And I'm at the same mileage on my 2007 and no issues. Keep your fingers crossed!

I think its like everything else - the only ones you hear about are the ones that fail. Ergo, they all must fail(!)

My 2007 made it 100,000 miles without a problem. My 2013 was replaced at 35,000 miles.
