Havent seen much info on programming and purchasing of keyfobs on here so I figured I'd chime in and let everyone know about my recent purchases. Might help somoene in a big way. So, when I purchased my 2007 way back when, I only got one keyfob with the car. Recently, I read a thread of a member that lost his fob and went through the ringer with the dealer trying to get another key and his car programmed. Well, this scare the crap out of me since I was in the same shoes and went to searching. I found a seller on ebay that had the original fobs and key for $95 each and found techstream on Amazon for $35. Picked up 2 fobs and got the techstream in the mail within days. Followed the instruction on techstream and it took about 15 seconds to program each key. So total out of pocket was about 225 for everything and I have a wonderful tool in techstream. Only thing left is having the keys cut but I dont ever recall using mines so thats nothing important now. Plus the dealer can cut a key based on the vin.

I posted this only another thread, 1010 keys on ebay does the physical key for about $12 shipped. Mine worked perfectly. Even though you don't ever use it, you should have it because if your battery (in the fob) goes dead you can still get into the car, and start it by holding the key fob (has RFID chip) next to the start button. https://www.ebay.com/str/1010keys/
Thanks for the information, they'll actually program the key for $12?
No, 1010keys just does the physical cutting of the metal key. They don't even need the key code, but it's best to send it anyway if you have it. (They can copy the key from a photo).
